Quality Management – ISO 9001

The Quality Management System (QMS) of the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split has been structured to comply with the International Standard EN ISO 9001:2008. The Quality Manual, as the essential QMS document, has been applied with the purpose of organising, implementing and monitoring the activities related to the core business of the Faculty, in particular education, scientific work, research, and with the purpose of providing highly-professional services in the area of maritime affairs.

The Quality Manual is designed to meet the internal and external needs of the Faculty as it describes the basic features and the policy of quality management, and the ways of satisfying the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and achieving the objectives set by the Faculty.

The purpose of the applied QMS is to:

  1. enable the staff members to familiarise with the business activities which are necessary to meet the ISO 9001:2008 requirements with regard to customers / service users. This primarily refers to the continuous identification and definition of better organisational solutions and more efficient business systems. The responsibility and obligation of all employees imply the participation and assistance in creating, introducing, maintaining and – in particular – improving the Quality Management System;
  2. achieve the required quality of service, and to timely perform all other business activities that indirectly affect the service quality.
