Invictus Mare
About the Association
On St. Nicholas Day, 6 December 2013, a group of students of the Yacht and Marina Technologies Department at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split founded Invictus Mare, the non-profit association whose core activity is networking of students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies who share similar interests, aspirations and inclinations. The Association was entered into the Register of Associations of the Republic of Croatia on 20 January 2014. The initial goals include engaging a large number of students and supporting members in direct activities, participation in educational and research projects, improvement of the student standard and conditions of studying and living in Split, and becoming a recognisable association within the University of Split.
Goals and activities of Invictus Mare
Invictus mare is an association of zealous and creative students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split. The essential goals include the promotion of marina and yacht technologies as well as the related professions, encouragement and enhancement of cultural, entertainment, sports and educational-research activities of students, and contribution to the development of a modern, free, democratic, plural, tolerant and non-violent society.
In order to achieve these goals, the Association encourages research activities in nautical tourism, organises research trips for the members, organises forums, public lectures, meetings, workshops, courses, etc. and launches projects aimed at enhancement of seafaring and student life, active cooperation and participation in various activities and programs, together with student and other organisations in Croatia and worldwide.
Organisation
The Association Invictus mare is governed by four bodies: the Assembly, the Chairperson, the Management Board and the Supervisory Board. The Assembly is the Association's highest body consisting of all regular members. The Chairperson is in charge of presenting and representing the Association. In the event the Chairperson is unable to perform his/her duties, the Vice Chairperson takes over. The Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson, together with the secretary and two other members, are the members of the Management Board. The Board is an executive body that governs the Association between the Assembly meetings. The Supervisory Board monitors the operation of all Association's bodies, financial and material performance of the Association, and makes sure the Statute and the by-laws are observed.

Membership
The membership in the Association is voluntary and may have three modes: regular, extraordinary and honorary. All present and former students of Yacht and Marina Technologies at the Faculty of Maritime Studies – University of Split can become regular members of Invictus mare. Any student attending an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate study programme related to maritime affairs at any university in the Republic of Croatia can become an extraordinary member of the Association. Any other person making a valuable contribution towards the operation of the Association and participating in the work and realisation of the Association's goals can become an honorary member.
The membership implies paying a membership fee amounting to 120.00 kn per year.
By-laws
The purpose of the by-laws is to ensure an organised and efficient performance of the Association. Once they come into force, all members of the Association are obliged to act in line with their provisions.
